In Chained Echoes there are different types of Weapons for players to unlock in the game. These include the many Rusty Weapons which have different locations and requirements to unlocking. Such as finishing specific Quests in Chained Echoes. But upon unlocking these Rusty Weapons, you can get them upgraded in The Flying Smithy. All you need for the upgrade is the Rusty Weapon and the Soul of Farnese. Per upgrade for the Rusty Weapon into its Ultimate variation, you will need to find a Soul of Farnese. Rusty Weapon Location and Requirement to Unlock Guide
- Sword – Complete ‘The Maelstrom’ Quest to obtain the Sword after speaking with Magnolia.
- Spear – Found in a Leonar Temple, complete Challenges to obtain the Spear.
- Bow – Complete ‘No Place for Happy Ends’ to receive the Bow as a reward.
- Rapier – Enter the Rohlan Fields Manor by obtaining the Key found on the northwest side of the Region. The Rapier is inside the Manor Library.
- Rifle – You need to recruit Jack into your Clan (Rank 3) who is found in Fiorwoods.
- Gunspear – Found on the floating island north-east of Shambala. Use the Sky Armor to get there.
- Amulet – In Leonar Tombs where you must complete the Challenges to obtain it.
- Katana – You must complete ‘Two-Winged Angel’ Quest to purchase the Katana from Norgant.
- Great Sword – You need to collect the Elevator Key, located in the chest on the right side of the room in Nhysa Magic Academy. Head to Raminas Tower and use the Key to go to 1F, where you will need to fight your way to Floor 7. You will find the Merchant of Ograne Grottos after leaving the Tower from Floor 8’s Elevator Room.
- Knuckles – Obtained as no. 96 on the Chain Rewards board.
- Anchor – Complete ‘A Little Vacation’ before finding the Anchor on the west side of the beach.
- Cards – Defeat all Unique Monsters in Chained Echoes. When this is done, head to Adventurer’s Guild to get the Cards as a reward.

Where to Find The Flying Smithy
To unlock The Flying Smithy you must head over to the Nhysa Magic Academy. In the courtyard of the Academy head north and then walk west when you are looking at the building ahead of you. There is a door to the far-left of the screen. Look for the green arrow on the floor as an indication to the room you can walk in. Head to the desk inside and you will pick up a note. This describes the location of The Flying Smithy, crucial information you need to upgrade your weapons.
The location of The Flying Smithy is a flying Island, west of Valandis. You need to use your Airship to get there. Refer to the screenshot above of what the Smithy looks like on the map. When you arrive, go north and enter the house with a windmill. You will find Vaehl inside who will upgrade your weapons to Ultimate form.
