With the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Beta wrapped up, players are eager to get their hands on the full product when it arrives in just over a month on October 28. One thing that players, no matter the Call of Duty entry, are also interested in is what the best melee-only loadout is for Modern Warfare 2. Though we didn’t get any kinds of melee weapons to play with in the Beta, we’ve come up with the best possible melee loadout so that you’re 100% ready to rack up close-up kills in your first matches of Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer.
How to Create Best Melee Only Loadout in Modern Warfare 2
Though you won’t find riot shields or knives to run around with, easily smacking enemy players down for quick melee kills yet, we’ve got a melee loadout that is sure to keep you light and in the best shape to get some pistol whipping kills using everything we’ve already been given in the Beta. So you should have no issue picking things up from where you left off once the full game launches and get ahead of the competition waiting for actual melee weapons.
- Primary Weapon – Fennec 45 Submachine Gun (stock, no attachments).
- Secondary Weapon – X13 Auto Pistol (stock, no attachments).
- Tactical – Stun Grenade (great for disorientating enemies for a quick melee hit).
- Lethal – Throwing Knife (a perfect last resort when in an enemy’s range but can’t melee them quick enough.
- Perk Package – Double Time (doubles sprint duration), Tracker (allows you to see enemies’ footprints), Quick Fix (regenerate health quickly when killing enemies), and High Alert (you’ll be notified when you’re enemies are looking at you).
- Field Upgrade – Dead Silence (this allows you to move quickly and silently).
That’s the best melee loadout for Modern Warfare 2! We’ve made sure to include the lightest guns to keep your movement stats up and equipped you with great gear to aid melee killing, and the Perks just don’t get any better than what we’ve paired.
Though there are sure to be some other great weapons, this is by far the best loadout that players can currently get their hands on ahead of release without having to surmount the 50 ranks worth of things that have to be unlocked as well. But so far, this is what players have to work with.
