How to Create a Custom Roster in Madden 23

Custom rosters are a great way to get as creative as you want when it comes to roster construction. Regardless, there’s a million reasons why one might want to either create or use a custom roster in Madden 23.

Thankfully, it’s a fairly easy process in Madden 23 as well. To create a custom roster, you simply need to;

  1. Select the NFL logo on the bottom-right corner of the Home Screen
  2. Go to “Edit Rosters” and then “Manage Players”
  3. From here, you can edit players as well as their names, numbers and ratings

If you want to trade players to a different team, follow the same process but instead of clicking on “Manage Players” you would hit “Trade Players”. You can also add existing free agents to a new team by selecting the “Sign Free Agents” option instead.

Once you’ve made the necessary adjustments, make sure that you save your rosters so that they don’t reset. To do this, go to “Share & Manage Files” from the Roster & Playbooks tab on the Main Menu, then hit “Save Files”. Scroll to the Roster section and save what you have created.

To use your custom roster during a game, you would need to;

  1. Click on the NFL logo on the bottom-right corner of the Home Screen
  2. Select “Share & Manage Files” and then “Load & Delete Files”
  3. Scroll down until you get to the Roster option, then select the roster you want to load

Alternatively, you can also just use a custom roster made by members of the Madden community. To do this, you would simply need to click on “Download Community Files” instead of “Load & Delete Files”. At which point you will be presented with numerous custom roster that have been created by different community members. Here you will also find customized playbooks and draft classes as well.
