How to Complete Cartel Investigation in Warzone 2.0 DMZ – Mission Guide

Sometimes a Looting Simulator, other times a Private Investigator.

Just when you thought you had enough to deal with on the legendary Al Mazrah, there is now the Cartel to face. As you dive deep into their ways, your job is to find out what they are doing in Al Mazrah and to stop their crimes at the source. Whilst these troublesome characters can be hard to find, alongside their Contraband, once you learn of their whereabouts the Cartel will begin to fear you. That being a sentence that can only be the case in a Video Game. This is our full guide on how to complete the Tier 1 Redacted Faction Mission ‘Cartel Investigation’ in Warzone 2.0 DMZ.

How to Complete ‘Cartel Investigation’ in DMZ

Where to Find Cartel Members

‘Cartel Investigation’ is your pleasant introduction to the new enemy AI in DMZ, the Cartel itself. Whilst they are very different to the real life Cartel that we all know, these enemies can only be found within Al Mazrah. This new, exclusive AI has set spawn locations, similar to that of the Shadow Company on this Map. But unlike those, they are incredibly easy to kill, just like the Al Qatala militia. Locating the Cartel in DMZ can be tough if you do not know where to look, however, the Mission Summary does indeed point you in the right direction. You need to go to Hafid Port, between this named location and Sa’id City. They can be found scattered around the Warehouses, on the sandy pavement.

Unlike other AI however, the Cartel does not have a landmark to point you towards them, such as a Stronghold flag. For this Mission however, you will know that you have located them as the first Objective will be ticked off upon walking into their “base”. You need to kill 5 of these Cartel Members which should be incredibly easy, even if you are a solo player. They take approximately 6-10 bullets to take out and are rarely seen in groups. They also behave incredibly similar to the common Al Qatala militia in that they are seen either running to hold an angle like a Valorant player or crouching like a COD Camper.

Where to Find Contraband Packages

The final Objectives asks you to find 2 large Contraband Packages in Al Mazrah. Thankfully you do not need to complete this Mission within a single deployment, so you can focus your efforts on killing the Cartel Members first and then finding the Contraband Packages. In fact, we highly recommend looking for the Packages at the beginning of your deployment as these will likely be picked up by other Operators trying to complete this Mission too. As DMZ love messing with their playerbase, players will not know where the Packages are located, unlike completing Contracts. Instead, players will need to search high and low for these Packages across Al Mazrah.

However, for this Mission, there are set spawns of these Packages and the named location where players need to go is to Hafid Port itself. You need to go to the end of the Port, right where the Ship is docked. However the Large Contraband Packages are not located on the Ship itself. Instead, you need the platform just after the long walkway towards the Ship, and just before entering the Ship. We have highlighted the spot you need in the screenshot below for the exact location of the 2 Contraband Packages (red dot). Thankfully they are located incredibly close to one another and found underneath the sheltered area of the Port, beside the Ship.

Finally, make sure that you safely exfil with the Packages otherwise it will not count towards the Objective and the Mission will not complete. Whilst the first two Objectives carry over into other deployments, the same cannot be said for the Contraband Packages, so when you have these on hand, you must exfil with them in order to complete ‘Cartel Investigation’.
