How to Complete Bounties in Fortnite

To quote the Sniper from Team Fortress 2, as long as there are two people left on the planet, someone is gonna want someone dead. I don’t know what Fortnite’s various players have done to earn the ire of its various NPCs, but if you’re a decent shot and want a quick paycheck, you might as well take up bounty hunting. After all, you were probably gonna shoot them anyway, so you might as well get paid for it. Here’s how to complete bounties in Fortnite.

How to Complete Bounties in Fortnite

Scattered throughout the map are a variety of NPCs and Bounty Boards, from which you can both pick up and claim bounties. When you pick up a bounty from an NPC or Board, you’ll get a picture of the outfit that player is wearing and their name. This is where the game of cat and mouse begins: you’ll only have six minutes to traverse the map and find your target. Their position will be denoted by a yellow radar on the map that’ll give you a rough idea of where to look for them. As you get closer, the radar will shrink until you’re right on top of them.

However, at the same time you pick up a bounty on a player, that player will also be alerted to the fact that their life is in danger. They’ll get the same six minute timer as you, as well as a special threat indicator that indicates how close you are to them. They won’t know what direction you’re coming from precisely, but just the fact that they’ll be on guard can make the hunt that much trickier.

If you manage to successfully terminate your target, you’ll receive a payment of gold bars. In a squad, everyone in the squad will receive the radar on their map. If any member of your squad kills the target, you’ll all get the reward. However, if another player happens to kill your target, you’ll only get half the reward, and if the target successfully evades you for the full six minutes, they’ll get the reward and you’ll get squat. This also goes for the target themselves; if you die in unrelated circumstances, they’ll receive half the reward.
