On the character selection screen, there are some options to set your game public or offline. When you have your game open to the public, players can join at any time during a level. When your game is available to others, you are effectively the host of the game. All world progress continues to save on your campaign.

To join a public game, you can select the Join Game option from the character screen and then choose to Join Public Game. Selecting this option throws you into a random public game. When you’re in another player’s game, progress to your world does not save. You still get to keep all the experience and loot you find, though.

Due to the randomly generated levels in Remnant From the Ashes, joining someone else’s game may provide a completely different experience from your own. You may also encounter new levels or hidden areas of the map you have not seen before.

When playing multiplayer in Remnant From the Ashes, you can revive your teammates when they go down. If a teammate dies for good, players will need to visit any World Stone to bring them back. Like single-player, interacting with the World Stone also refills your ammo, Dragon Hearts, and respawns mobs.

It’s a good idea to try and coordinate weapon mods in multiplayer to increase your odds of survival. For example, one player may want to equip a healing item, while another uses a plus damage aura. You may find different loadouts more effective in multiplayer than single player. That’s everything you need to know about how multiplayer works in Remnant From the Ashes.
