According to u/kamikazee786 in r/HarryPotterGame, the Grand Staircase has a total of seven floors. In addition to explorable floors, there are reportedly “corridors, rooms, and areas” on each floor to explore. That said, there’s a chance you may spend most of your time exploring outside the Hogwarts Castle. The original post on reddit, by u/vincy-xy, said in no uncertain terms they didn’t know how many floors were available because they hadn’t been to the castle that often. If it turns out there are more than seven floors when the game formally launches on Feb. 10, we’ll be sure to update this page accordingly.
How to Solve the Grand Staircase Door Puzzle
You may notice the Grand Staircase has a door puzzle! Here’s how to solve it!
- Roll the emblem across from the door until it looks (vaguely) like a human head.
- Head up the stairs and you’ll find a second emblem; roll it until it looks like a lizard.
- Head back to the door and interact with it. It should open, allowing you to access a chest with RAPSCALLION GARB inside. There’s another chest in this room carrying a MOONCALF STATUE.
