How Long is God of War Ragnarok? Full Game Length and Time to Beat Explained

Fimbulwinter will remain short in comparison.

If it has Ragnarök in the name, then you should expect a lot of game time hours, right? Well, if we take the original God of War (2018) as reference, we can have an idea of what to expect. The first game of the Norse saga of God of War took around 30 to 50 hours to complete. That includes all collectibles, challenges and secrets. With that precedent, one can only expect a surge on the amount of secrets, side missions, main story length and overall experience and quality for God of War Ragnarök. With that being said, how long is God of War Ragnarök? Well, allow me to explain further. And don’t worry, you’re into a big chunk of time necessary to beat it.

How Long is God of War Ragnarok?

The short answer is pretty long. But you don’t want short answers, don’t you? Well, don’t worry, I’ll give you a detailed and long answer to keep your curiosity under control. Picking up from God of War (2018), Ragnarök shares a similar, albeit a bit longer runtime. Of course, this all depends on which type of player you are. If you only like to focus on your task at hand and won’t do anything besides the main story, the game will take you about 20 to 25 hours to beat. Now, that’s pretty decent. If you enjoy some side missions, but don’t mind missing a couple of them, then the game should take about 25 to 35 hours to beat. However, if you’re a completionist like myself (and Jirard as well), then you’re into the ultimate task of having to spend 50 to 60 (or more) hours into the game. Now that’s a lot of content for you, my side-mission-craving, collectable-loving, upgrade-seeking, rune-translating, boss-fighting friend, so be happy!

Feel rejoiced that you are into a pretty long adventure, and that the folks at Santa Monica Studios have such love for the game that allows us to have such a gift in our hands. Anyway, start your long journey and don’t forget to eat and talk with friends, that’s vital you know!
