The four current quirks in the game are Pick Off Artist, Break Outlier, Table Setter, and Bad Ball Hitter. We will discuss the two new quirks, Pick Off Artist and Break Outlier.
Pick Off Artist in MLB The Show 23
A pitcher with the Pick Off Artist quirk has a 2x chance of getting a successful pick-off. If have ever played MLB games, a successful pick off throw is a rare feat to witness. The new quirk differentiates the good pitchers from the best ones who are expert at getting a runner out.

Break Outlier in MLB The Show 23
A pitcher with Break Outlier quirk retains break for a longer period. This results in losing breaks at a much slower rate than those who lack the quirk. This can become increasingly useful against batters who are confidently hitting the fastballs. Break Outlier adds some variety to the pitcher’s arsenal and retain it longer period in a match.
San Diego Studio has worked on the defense aspect of the game, making it more dynamic than before. High fielding attribute has become more significant than before. Players with the attribute will make fewer mistakes and judge the ball better. This adds more realism to the game.
