Getting Stronger, Piece by Piece.

Hi-Fi Rush was announced and released in a single day. And, as a result, players all over the world are now learning how this rhythm/action-RPG works. To add, as they collects the game’s unique currency (gears), players can upgrade Chai’s skills and equipment. Here’s how to upgrade Chai in Hi-Fi Rush.

Hi-Fi Rush: How to Upgrade Chai

In the first stage, you’ll probably collect a lot of gears, but you won’t have anywhere to spend them until after you’ve beaten the boss. As soon as you’ve arrived at your hideout, speak to Peppermint, who will be able to upgrade your attacks, special attacks, and items. There’s a fourth category, but it’s unavailable at the start of the game. Peppermint heavily implies this category will be unlocked later.

In the attacks category, anything you unlock becomes part of your core moveset. These moves include more specialized combos that mix normal and heavy attacks, for example. Special Attacks are different, in that you can’t use them unless they’re equipped. As such, there are less options than regular attacks. Items consist largely of additional Life Gauges, Electric Reverb Cores, Health Tanks, and Slot Upgrades. All of these upgrades will cost gears, which you can collect more of in each level.
