Heart of Inmost Light Nerfed for Destiny 2 Lightfall

If you're a Titan main - I'm sorry for your loss.

Heart of Inmost Light has been nerfed going into Destiny 2 Lightfall. This much beloved Exotic has had a nerf incoming for quite some time. However, I don’t think any of us expected Bungie to go quite this far. If you run this piece of gear on your main, I’m sorry for your loss.

Alas, all good things must come to an end. Thus the death of Heart of Inmost Light is upon us. In the past, this busted Titan Exotic allowed users to maintain a nearly 100% uptime on all their abilities. You combine that with Arc 3.0 and some supped-up Lightning Grenades, and you have one of the best builds Destiny has seen in years.

The build was so good, in fact, that Bungie has decided to stomp it into the ground with the following Heart of Inmost Light nerfs:

  • The Empowered Ability buffs from Heart of Inmost Light have had their duration reduced down from 10 seconds to five seconds.
  • The class ability regen buff has been decreased from 150% down to 25% for each stack of Empowered.

That’s only two changes, but it murders this Exotic and then some. A lot of the time, Bungie’s Exotic changes are aimed at bringing something’s power back in line with the META. These changes, however, are the equivalent of dropping a nuclear bomb.

In particular, cutting the ability regen down to just 25% from 150% is devastating. It makes this Exotic downright useless when compared to some of the other options – so it’s safe to say that HOIL is most certainly dead and gone.
