This goes for gaming as well; do you know how many games have had nods to the infamous Golden Gun from Goldeneye? That’s because everyone loves gold. If you consider yourself a connoisseur of the shinier things in life, there’s a particular mode in Fortnite I know you’ll just love. Here’s how to play Solid Gold mode in Fortnite.

What is Solid Gold Mode in Fortnite

Solid Gold mode is a special, limited gameplay mode added to Fortnite way back in 2018. In general, the objective is the same as a regular battle royale: be the last man standing to win, be anyone else to lose. The twist is that all dropped weapons and items are 100% guaranteed to be of Legendary quality. We’re talking the absolute cream of the crop on all players at all times. It’s truly a recipe for the best kind of chaos. There are actually some quests that you can only complete in Solid Gold mode, so it’s handy to know how to play it whenever you want.

How to Play Solid Gold Mode in Fortnite

Since Solid Gold mode is an LTM, though, it’s not always available, and even when it’s supposed to be available, players have reported difficulties with getting it to show up. The way you’re intended to access Solid Gold mode is to find it on the Discover screen, but it’s not always there. Luckily, there’s an alternative method.

Using the Island Code system, you can force an instance of the game with particular parameters in place, kind of like seeds in a roguelike. In the Island Code prompt, simply enter in 5210-2267-4798 to get an instance with Solid Gold turned on. 

Fortnite Sold Gold Mode Challenges and Quests

Currently, there are four available Solid Gold quests in Fortnite:

  • Loot 4 chests in Solid Gold  – 10,000 XP
  • Deal 300 damage to opponents in Solid Gold – 12,000 XP
  • Collect 400 Gold Bars in Solid Gold – 14,000 XP
  • Complete 3 Solid Gold quests – 18,000 XP
