Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 3 is less than a month away, and the current Season 2 is coming to an end. The current season was extended another month back in April, and we’re slowly getting more info leaks regarding Season 3. Here’s everything we know so far about the Season 3 Fortnite Doomsday Event.
Fortnite Doomsday Event
The Season 3 event in Fortnite is the Doomsday Event. You will notice cables towards the top of the main screen in Fortnite. The cables lead out from one of the agent’s rooms all the way up and across the screen behind the Battle Pass menu.
These cables are brand new to Fortnite and were not there earlier in Season 2. It turns out this is connected to a Doomsday device. If we head into Midas’ room, the Doomsday device can be spotted in the background.
We know this is the Doomsday Device because a model in the files has an image of it, which looks exactly like this with cables leading out of it. The specific filename for this is “BP12/S_DoomsdayDevice_BP12”, which might reference Battle Pass 12.
When Does the Fortnite Doomsday Event Start
Many people are wondering when the Fortnite Doomsday Event will actually start. The answer is nobody is quite sure yet, though many are speculating it will start on June 3. This is the date for the Fortnite Season 2 Chapter 2 start, so it would make sense.
Epic Games has not acknowledges the Doomsday Device or any other information around the Doomsday Event. We have only seen leaked images of it, and a few subtle clues scattered throughout the game like the cable on the main screen and the device in Midas’ room.
Doomsday Event Theories
Some people believe that Midas could be using the Doomsday Device to destroy the Fortnite world. Others believe Midas could be trying to change time with the Doomsday Device, meaning we could see a flashback to the original Fortnite map. As of right now, it’s anybody’s guess, but there are a lot of clues in the game that point to this event being a real thing for Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 3.
There is also a suit in Midas’ room that was revealed in one of the trailers. Some people believe this suit will be used by Midas to withstand the power of the Doomsday Device.
