Epic Games stealthily launched Chapter 3 Season 1 this weekend, after the Chapter 2 finale on Dec. 4. The launch surprised many players as they swarm to get in on the action. However, many players are having issues connecting to Fortnite Chapter 3, getting stuck at the login screen, experiencing matchmaking and partying issues, among other problems.
While some players are certainly able to connect and play, a vast majority of players appear to be experiencing connection issues. Despite Epic Games’ reputation for minimal downtime and successful launches and updates throughout the years, it cannot always be a smooth launch.
Fortnite Chapter 3 Stuck at Logging In or Connecting
According to the Fortnite Status Twitter, the team is aware that logins, purchases, partying, and matchmaking are all delayed. They are working on resolving this issue and will update everyone when it is addressed.
The team is also working to specifically address PC login issues that have Fortnite Chapter 3 players stuck at the logging in screen. According to a separate tweet, Epic Games is working to patch things up and requests players remain patient in the meantime.
For players experiencing issues downloading and launching the game, the community suggests closing and reopening your game client when you have around four minutes remaining. The process can reduce login errors and ensure players can make it into the lobby and begin playing.
The best course of action, in any case, is to hang tight while Epic Games fixes all the network and stability issues. There’s no doubt the game will be fixed in due time. Everyone will have their chance to hop into the action-packed Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1 soon.
You can stay tuned to the @FortniteStatus Twitter for real-time updates on issues and fixes. We anticipate these issues will not last long, as Epic Games is no stranger to handling massive surges of players.
In the meantime, you can check out some of our Fortnite guides and content for the new season.
