While the Battle Pass for Chapter 2 Season 7 works the same way as the previous ones, you also now have the option of using Battle Stars to directly purchase skins you want. Much like the experience you gain toward leveling up the Battle Pass, you receive Battle Stars by simply playing the game and leveling up. You can also earn additional Battle Stars by completing specific in-game challenges, and some secret Battle Stars have even been scattered around the map for you to uncover while playing. Don’t worry if you don’t own the Battle Pass; both free and paid players earn the same amount of Battle Stars from all of these activities.
So you’ve got your Battle Stars, but how do you use them? Separate from the Battle Pass is a special Battle Star catalog that you can peruse at your leisure. When you first crack it, only a few pages of unlockable skins are available. As you increase your season level, more pages of the catalog will open up. On any page you have access to, you can spend your Battle Stars to unlock stuff that catches your eye. You don’t need to buy everything on a page to unlock other pages; you can feel free to save your Stars if nothing interests you. That said, there are special rewards for unlocking every item on a page, so if you’ve got a surplus of Stars, you might as well go for broke.
Even if you clear out the entire catalog, there will still be bonus stuff you can spend your Stars on, so make sure to get as many Stars as you can before the end of the season.
How many Battle Stars do you need to get everything in the Battle Pass?
You will need a total of 500 stars to claim all ten pages of skins in the Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 7 Battle Pass. It’s essentially the same deal as every previous season, but now you can pick and choose what rewards you want to go for first.
