Fire Emblem Engage: Can You Promote Thief Class? Answered

No stealing these unit exclusive traits

Once again, here is a unit class you may be curious to learn about its availability or exclusivity in Fire Emblem Engage. Considering many of the most unique classes in the game are locked as certain unit exclusive classes – the player character of Alear being one such example even as the Divine Dragon – it remains a staple element for the long-running series. Even in Engage, certain classes are still gender locked. The exclusivity of it all remains a series convention, including how the Thief class works with it being a unique class to two characters who will eventually join you.

Fire Emblem Engage: Can You Promote Thief Class? Answered

Thief class is a special class much like the deal with Seadall as the only unit who are recruited and can access the Dancer class. The only characters in Fire Emblem Engage who are in the Thief class are Yunaka, available in Chapter 6, and Zelkov, available in Chapter 11. These are units that are automatically recruited, so you will be unable to miss them when they are introduced in the story.

On that note and to answer the core question here, the Thief class is a special class, meaning that the limit of their growth is not capped off at level 20 unlike the majority of every other unit. Instead, to maintain a balance of growth across all units, those in the Thief class can be levelled up until level 40 due to their inaccessibility to Base and Advanced Classes. This also means that these two will remain only able to be proficient in wielding knifes exclusively.

To put it simply, the Thief Class cannot be demoted or promoted.
