Just because they both have a British accent, doesn't mean it's the same person.

There’s something to be said about trying to make something feel too familiar. The idea essentially meaning people can enjoy things more if it has a layer of familiarity wrapped around it. Some people seem to argue that this went to an extreme level in Hogwarts Legacy. From some players arguing that entire characters and plot points feel like they were copied from the widely popular Harry Potter movies and books. There is one thing in particular that people have been asking themselves since the release of the game. That question is: does the neutral male voice sound too similar to Daniel Radcliffe in Hogwarts Legacy?

The latest installment in the wizarding world had opted to only include 2 different voices for players to choose for their characters. In an RPG with a decent amount of customization as this one, it may come as a surprise that there are only 2 choices. Instead giving players the option to change the pitch of those 2 voices. However, people have begun to draw parallels with how the neutral male voice sounds in relation to Harry Potter actor Daniel Radcliffe. Which is a bit concerning, as comparisons as this are slightly accusatory in nature. With people claiming that this was done intentionally which detracts from both performances given by both amazing actors.

The voice actor lending his voice to the game, Sebastian Croft, is a 21 year old British born actor. He has been in shows such as Game of Thrones and Doom Patrol, and more. If you watch any of the promotional videos with a male voice, it’s most likely the neutral male voice. What’s more, if you play the game and choose this voice, you might also think Harry Potter is the main character of the game. The way certain lines are delivered, as well as the fact they both share a British accent, has led many to say the neutral male voice sounds too similar to Daniel Radcliffe.
