Sons of the Forest is a hardcore survival game that takes place on a remote island far removed from society. However, that is not to say there isn’t a society of its own on this island, which is filled with dangerous cannibals and terrifying mutants created by a company that was experimenting with ancient technology. Your plane crashed on this island, of all islands, and you must work to survive against the many dangers that will present themselves over the course of your stay. Can Trees Grow Back in Sons of the Forest?
Luckily for players who love the forested environment of this game, the trees do in fact grow back! However, there are some caveats to this feature. Firstly, trees will not grow back if you cut the stumps as well as the tree itself. Therefore, if you want trees to come back make sure that you don’t cut down the stumps as well. Permanently removing trees from the landscape can have its own benefits though, especially because cannibals can attack from the trees in the latest update, and some enemies prefer to use the forest as camouflage and wait for you to get close before a sudden ambush!
The trees in Sons of the Forest will regrow super slow, so make sure that you do have other ways to get the resources that you need in the meantime. Unlike in the original game called ‘The Forest’, you cannot toggle whether or not trees will regrow, and it is stuck on the setting that allows them to – although as we mentioned above you can prevent this by removing tree stumps too.
