Do Enemies Respawn in Sons of the Forest? Answered

Will you have to fight them over and over?

Sons of the Forest will be one of the most intense survival games you play this year, period. Set on a creepy remote island filled with the horrifying experiments-gone-wrong of a mysterious research company, as well as super (un)friendly cannibal groups, there are plenty of dangers that you’ll encounter as you play. Work to gather resources and tools that you need in order to survive, and slowly build up a base and reliable sources of food to keep your hunger at bay. Obtain different weapons as well as work with two possible NPC companions as you progress through the game. With a number of unique environments to explore on the island, there is a lot of variety that you will encounter as you trek around it. Players have been wondering whether the enemies that they kill in Sons of the Forest respawn, and in this guide we have all the answers!

There’s a lot of different monsters out hunting for you in the game, and taking them down can feel extremely satisfying, especially the tougher foes. However, players have been disappointed (or in some cases pleased) to hear that anything you defeat will respawn and come back for another try. This includes the many caves that you can explore in the game, where enemies will come back to life and guard it again after around 10-20 minutes of real time have passed.

However, there are some places that enemies will not spawn. The first of these are the bunkers, which is great news since most of the best loot that respawns happens to be in the bunkers, meaning that once you take out the defenders of a bunker for the first time you won’t ever have to deal with them again. The second location is the archipelago of smaller islands to the southeast, where cannibals and mutants cannot reach since the water is too deep. You’ll be safe from enemies there, too!
