A new exfiltration option called DMZ was introduced simultaneously with the release of Warzone 2.0. This mode has a developing following of both recreational and competitive players even with the beta label. What will we see in DMZ season 2 with the end of the first season only a month away?
Bring the energy, bring the hype
DMZ received a few additions with the release of season 1.5, also referred to as season 1 reloaded. We were introduced to Building 21 and were given our first gaming experience on a separate map. We also have an additional DMZ method for unlocking the new AR. When season 2 is published, it will be interesting to see if DMZ keeps the beta tag. The number of improvements the player base will experience may be limited if a beta is kept running.
Things we want to see in DMZ Season 2:
- Dynamic weather/time – On a rotating schedule, this might occur either during the match or even in between games.
- More spawn locations or variations – Constantly using the same spawns might get dull and risky. More spawn would give the map a more dynamic vibe.
- Add more missions – What should you do next after completing the tier 5 missions? There isn’t much, but we hope additional missions will be added.
- Private Lobbies – What might make a sandbox mode more enjoyable? Customized lobbies to achieve even more!
- Additional Maps – Building 21 was a welcome addition, albeit for a short period of time. There will be greater replay value with more maps.
- More exfil points or exfil options – Not just more points but maybe even escape by boat or armored vehicle. Not always a very obvious helicopter.
- Events – The first time someone accessed bunker 11 after interpreting the phone conversation and flying to the indicated map locations all before the match concluded to unlock a blue print, was amazing. Those who have played Warzone since Verdansk remember the excitement it brought us. Yes, please do that more!
- Inter AI conflict – The map would become combustible if there were territorial battles between the AI, and traveling in a hostile area would be even riskier.
- Between match stash management – The interaction between matches is one of the most lacking aspects of DMZ. Other than the weapons you took with you and the keys you may use to enter again, not much is left. Here, something more is necessary.
- Zombies – Do I really need to say anything else?

There are many possible improvements that might be made to this game. DMZ Season 2 has a lot of room to develop in the fantastic PvPvE setting. Will the mode still be in beta testing or will it be fully released in February along with Warzone 2.0 Season 2?
