A ‘key Digimon is the Digimon that can only Digivolve into that better Digimon, so you’ll need to aim for it before you can get the one you want. TLDR; make sure your Digimon is being trained to match the key points of the Digimon that you want and make sure you’re aiming for the key Digimon if your desired Digimon has one.
