Digimon World: Next Order is coming out this week, and we’re all curious about whom the best starter Digimon are in the game! The title has been out for a few years on the PS4, and it even was out on the Vita in Japan only. Thankfully that means that there’s a wealth of information in relation to the title coming out soon on PC and Switch.
Choosing a favorite Digimon is hard due to there being so many of them, almost 1,500! Almost half of that includes Digimon in pants. Thankfully in Digimon World: Next Order the game makes the choice easier for you due to only letting players select from a limited pool of baby Digimon who can then evolve into handfuls of other ones. In Digimon World: Next Order the game allows the player to select two companions to come with them on the adventure. There essentially isn’t the BEST Digimon to pick, but there are two combinations that will set you off on very solid ground.

Best Starters
Zerimon
If you want to run a team with a headliner who can take a lot of hits, pick up Zerimon, the egg with the yellow triangles on it. Once Zerimon digivolves he will turn into Gummymon who will be an amazing tanking star for any duo. Gummymon can evolve into Terriermon, Toyagumon, Clearagumon, Hagurumon and, Gaomon.
Motimon
This is the egg you want to pick to team up with your Gummymon. Initially Pabumon will hatch from the purple egg. Then they will become Motimon. Motimon will be a very great speed Digimon to have on the team. Eventually Motimon will digivolve into Gotsumon, Wormmon, Tentomon, Hackmon, and Hagurumon.
Koromon
The classic choice. The yellow Koromon egg is the one you want to pick if you want to have a Digimon who is an all-rounder in the game. He’s feisty and fiery! Once Koromon can evolve he can turn into Agumon, Toyagumon, Veemon, Agumon Black, and Shoutmon. Just a solid pick overall.
Tsunomon
The blue egg with the stripes on it! This one will hatch into Punimon and then turn into Tsunomon. All the potential digivolutions here will be amazing attackers and will team up with Koromon flawlessly. The potential evolutions are Gabumon, Gaomon, Pyschemon, Gumdramon and Gabumon Black.
