Details Revealed About the PlayStation and Discord Partnership

Back in May of last year, it was announced that PlayStation and Discord had started a new partnership. Many wondered what this would mean for users of PlayStation consoles and Discord. Today, Discord has finally revealed the details of its partnership with PlayStation and what will come of it in the future.

Here’s How PlayStation and Discord Can Now Be Connected

Starting today, Discord users will now be able to display game activity from their PS4 and PS5 on their profiles. This is done by connecting a PSN account with a Discord account. Users can link both accounts by going into their user settings on either mobile, desktop, or web and selecting connections.

After choosing the connections option, users can then click on the PlayStation icon which will then take them to a webpage allowing them to sign in to their PlayStation Network account. Once this is done, any games played on a connected PlayStation Network account will then appear on the connected Discord user profile.

This feature has been present on Discord for years now but the fact that it is considered the beginning of a partnership with PlayStation could mean big changes for users. For instance, Discord users and PlayStation users may be able to communicate through voice or text chat using Discord. This isn’t confirmed but this statement from Discord makes it possible: “We’re excited to continue our partnership with PlayStation and explore how we can collectively create great shared experiences for your friends and communities.”

This feature is rolling out today on all Discord platforms.
