Destiny 2 Regnant God Roll For PvE and PvP

Well, that Wendigo META was short-lived.

Out of all the new weapons that dropped with Lightfall, Regnant is easily the most impressive. One little perk combination on this Heavy Grenade Launcher will propel it to the top of the META – and I’m sorry for all of you out there who spent hours grinding Wendigo.

These Regnant god rolls blow Wendigo out of the water in every conceivable way. Whether or not you like GLs is irrelevant – you want to get this crafted.

  • Quick Launch.
  • High-Velocity Rounds.
  • Envious Assassin.
  • Explosive Light.

This Regnant god roll takes advantage of Explosive Light. That means we want to skip Spike Grenades and focus on Velocity instead. To that effect, we’re taking Quick Launch and High-Velocity Rounds

The real meat of this Regnant PvE god roll starts with Envious Assassin. This is a perk introduced into Lightfall, and it changes the game for explosive heavies. It overflows your mag when you get kills with other weapons. In other words, doing some basic add-clear overflows the mag.

It doesn’t overflow it by a shell or two, either – I’ve seen Guardians get over 15 shots in a single Heavy Grenade Launcher drum. It’s Clown Cartridge on steroids and the sole reason you shouldn’t have been farming Wendigo in Season 19.

We’re going to be pairing Envious Assassin with Explosive Light, for obvious reasons. It’s the best damage perk in the game for Heavy Grenade Launchers, giving us 52% more damage on up to six shots. Sure, not all of the rounds you get with Envious Assassin will benefit from Explosive Light, but the regular damage they output is still insane.

If you want something with more burst-DPS potential, you could pair Envious with Cascade Point to empty those rounds as fast as possible. This GL also has Auto-Loading Hoster in its third column, so you can go for a more traditional roll if you want to.

  • Volatile Launch.
  • Spike Grenades.
  • Repulsor Brace.
  • Destabilizing Rounds.

Regnant has very clearly been designed as a PvE weapon. In PvE, it’s in the conversation for the best Heavy GL in the game. It doesn’t have any rolls that can even come close to competing with that in PvP, though. All the same, I’ve put together a theoretical Regnant PvP god roll – in case you’re committed to running it.

I’m swapping out the Velocity setup I used in the PvE roll for a more traditional Blast Radius one. Volatile Launch and Spike Grenades will increase the damage and size of your Blast Radius, making your near-misses more forgiving.

In Column three, I’ve gone for Repulsor Brace because it synergizes with our column four perk, and there are no real better options. The Overshield on Void-debuff kill will make sense when you look at our next perk, Destabilizing Rounds.

This perk Volatiles nearby enemies when you kill someone – increasing this Regnant’s multi-kill potential quite substantially. If you can get those first two kills off, you’ll generate on Overshield and be on track for a full wipe.

That’s it for these Regnant god rolls. This is one for PvE players to chase. PvP mains might want to experiment with the Repulsor Brace/Destabilizing combo, but it’s not one to bring into Trials any time soon.
