Destiny 2 Players Have a Chance to Earn a Real-Life Gjallarhorn

It's a little less destructive than the real thing

I mean, Bungie isn’t going to ship you out an actual rocket launcher. You’ll get the next best thing, though, in the form of a limited edition NERF LMTD Gjallarhorn. By earning the Gjallarhorn exotic rocket launcher inside Destiny 2 (an easy enough task), you will have early access to pre-order the NERF LMTD Gjallarhorn rocket launcher in August of 2022.

The launcher will cost $160 or €171, which is far cheaper than I was expecting it to be. Sure, it’s more expensive than the other NERF LMTD tie-in weapons that have come out, namely the Mandalorian Amban Phase-Pulse Blaster and the Needler from Halo, but it’s also much bigger and a lot more intricate in its design.

The launcher is built at a 1:1 scale with the in-game Gjallarhorn, leaving it to measure at over 4 feet long. It also fires a shell that fires three darts, something that has never been seen before in a NERF product and a clear attempt to replicate Wolfpack Rounds. The breech-loading mechanism from the game is replicated, too. You’ll also get a certificate of authenticity, which is a nice touch.

The NERF LMTD Gjallarhorn is about as true to the real thing as you could get without being charged for possession of an illegal piece of ordinance.

These guys are going to sell out fast once pre-orders open up next year, so if you want one, make sure you earn the Gjallarhorn in-game and mark the calendar. Otherwise, you’ll be buying yours from a scalper.
