I’m going to go over how to get the Quicksilver Storm Exotic Auto Rifle in Destiny 2 Lightfall. Before I say anything though, I do have to warn you that you probably won’t like the answer I’m going to give you. Bungie has made this Auto Rifle potentially the hardest Exotic to get in Destiny 2, and no – it doesn’t require any Master runs or solo flawless completions.
I’ll run you through how to get Quicksilver Storm, as well as what it does. It’s not great – but it is an Exotic, and they’re always worth chasing.
How to Get the Quicksilver Storm Exotic Auto Rifle in Destiny 2
To get the Quicksilver Storm Exotic Auto Rifle in Destiny 2, you’ll need to do one of two things:
- Preorder Lightfall.
- Purchase the Lightfall Annual Pass Edition.
Given that you can obviously no longer preorder Lightfall, your only option to get this Exotic is to open your wallet to the sweet tune of $100 USD. If you’ve already purchased Lightfall without the Annual Pass – you might think you’re out of luck, but you’re not.
There is a Lightfall Annual Pass upgrade that you can purchase after buying Lightfall. This only accounts for the Seasonal and Dungeon content you haven’t already purchased, so you’re not really wasting money here.
Getting this upgrade, or the Annual Pass Edition outright, are the only two ways to get your hands on Quicksilver Storm.
When you do purchase the correct pack, you’ll find Quicksilver Storm, along with some other goodies, waiting for you with Master Rahool in the Tower.
While it’s possible that Bungie will introduce new in-game methods to obtain the Exotic in the future, nothing has been said on the matter.
If you came here looking for a way to earn the Auto Rifle, I’m sorry. The only way to obtain it is to purchase it – but it’s not like you’re missing out on too much.

Quicksilver Storm’s Exotic perk is “Rocket Tracers”. This perk causes the weapon to periodically shoot mini rockets when you hit targets. When you hit those rockets, you’ll be powering up another one of this weapon’s perks, called “Grenade Tracers”.
“Grenade Tracers” gives Quicksilver an alternative fire mode that makes it launch grenades. These grenades hit for around 45,000 damage each – so it’s actually quite a decent option for dealing with Majors.
However, it isn’t worth using up your Exotic slot on. Sure, it might be fun to use the same way The Manticore was, but in terms of META potential, there is none.
So if you have FOMO (fear of missing out) regarding Quicksilver Storm – don’t. It’s not good enough to stress above.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but that’s the only way to get Quicksilver Storm in Destiny 2. For more guides, tips, and tricks moving into Lightfall – follow Gamer Journalist on Facebook. If we discover a new way to earn this Auto Rifle, you’ll be the first to know.
