Destiny 2 – How to Get the Swarmers Boots

I'm not sure how to make these work with fashion, but you do you - I guess...

I’m going to go over how to get the Swarmers in Destiny 2. These oddly-named Exotic boots are exclusive to Warlocks and play into the new Strand subclass – so they’re worth having in your back pocket for build crafting. I’m not saying they’re going to be META, but they’re worth experimenting with.

If you’ve been around the Destiny 2 sphere for a while, then you probably know the answer I’m about to give – to get the Swarmers in Destiny 2, you’ll need to grind out Legendary and Master Lost Sectors. Specifically, you’ll need to grind them out while solo.

This isn’t anything new. Lost Sectors have been our go-to Exotic farm for a while. Each day, the daily Lost Sector will rotate. Each Lost Sector has a specific armor slot associated with it. So, one day it might drop Exotic arms, the next it may drop Exotic helmets.

There are two ways to grind these Lost Sectors:

  • Wait until it’s a boots Lost Sector, then run it solo until you get the Swarmers.
  • Fill up your Engram slots so that new Engrams go to the Post Master. Grind your Legendary Lost Sector of choice, letting all the Exotics go to said Post Master. Then, when its boots for the daily Sector, you can open your Post Master Exotics.

The latter is easily the best way to get the Swarmers boots in Destiny 2. It lets you farm quick and easy Lost Sectors rather than relying on luck when it comes to the boost rotation, but it’s also the longest as you’ll have to wait to decrypt your Engrams.

There is one other way to get Swarmers, and that’s to complete the Lightfall campaign on Legendary with a Warlock. This will award you with a pair of the boots upon completion – but they won’t have the best roll in the world.

Are the Swarmers even worth all this hassle in the first place? Well, with them, destroying a Tangle (the new Strand equivalent of Elemental Wells) will send out seekers that attack and Unravel targets. When a target is Unravelled, attacking them will send out even more seekers.

It’s safe to say that Swarmers are indeed worth grinding for. Strand is undoubtedly going to be busted until an eventual nerf a few weeks after Lightfall, so we can expect these seekers to actually be quite effective.

We don’t have much variety when it comes to Strand build-crafting, so any Exotic that helps that process along is one worth having.
