Destiny 2 – How to Get Ophidia Spathe

Hunter’s have always had access to some of the best exotics in the game. Does anyone remember when Shards of Galanor broke literally broke the game when they were introduced? We do. Ophidia Spathe isn’t quite that powerful, but it can be a fun piece of gear to build around.

Ophidia Spathe’s exotic perk is Scissor Fingers. Its effect is simple, granting you two knife charges instead of your typical one.

That might not sound all that great, especially compared to the other popular Hunter exotics out there. However, consider the synergy possibilities it has with some of the Gunslinger perks.

It’s a neat exotic either way, so we’re going to help you get your hands on it.

How to Get Ophidia Spathe in Destiny 2

There is no guaranteed way to get the Ophidia Spathe in Destiny 2. It is a random drop from PvE and PvP events, as well as from exotic engrams and powerful gear drops.

Like every other year-1 piece of armor in Destiny 2, there’s no sure-fire way to get your hands on the Ophidia Spathe. All you can do is play and pray. However, if you do want to farm for it, you’ve got a higher chance of obtaining it than a lot of other exotics.

As an exotic chest piece, the Ophidia Spathe is a part of the Lost Sector reward pool. This means that on days when chest pieces are in the rotation, you can farm Lost Sectors for it. This means that you’re only dealing with the chest piece drop pool, rather than the exotic drop pool at large. So, if you want to get the Ophidia Spathe as soon as possible, that’s how to do it.

If you’re not too concerned about getting it immediately, you could always wait for Xur to have it in his inventory. As year-1 armor, he’s much more likely to stock it than a lot of other gear, so you probably won’t have to wait too many weeks.

Alternatively, you could just grind out Strikes, Nightfalls, or the Crucible in the hopes of getting it to drop. This is the least efficient method you have of getting the Ophidia Spathe, but it can be a good excuse to finally complete some of those quests you’ve been putting off.

Otherwise, all you can do is hope you get it from weekly bounties. Given how few of those you get per week, and the exotic drop rate for them, you’re going to be waiting a hell of a long time to get your hands on the Ophidia Spathe.
