Jumping Through Flaming Hoops.

I don’t know about you, but I hate it when I am driving to work and I run over a Vex Cube. It’s such an inconvenience! The only thing that could be worse is learning that there are six of them in order to start a quest that may or may not even exist! Wait … what were we talking about again?

In the latest season of Destiny 2, there’s a quest that’s been hidden pretty well by the devs. It’s called //NODE.OVRD.AVALON//, and the only way to start it is by collecting six Vex Cubes within a limited time. We know finding these cubes — especially when also dodging enemy fire — can be tough, so thankfully, we’ve come prepared! Read on to learn the locations of each Vex Cube to start //NODE.OVRD.AVALON//.

Destiny 2: All 6 Vex Cube Locations for //NODE.OVRD.AVALON//

It should be noted first that there is no purpose in continuing with this guide if you do not have season twenty, entitled Season of Defiance. In the season, this secret exotic mission could easily be overlooked by the average gamer because of how well disguised it is. In order to start it, however, you’ll have to find and nab all six Vex Cubes scattered around The Gulch on Earth.

Vex Cube #1

As you enter the area, you may see a cube in your periphery underneath a decaying bridge. This is not the first cube, so pass it up in favor of one directly across from it, in the midst of an enemy camp. As soon as you collect it, you will be given the first number in what looks to be an access code: 53. You should then notice that you have a limited time to reach the next cube: 30 seconds.

Vex Cube #2

OK — now, turn towards the cube under the bridge that you passed earlier and hover towards it. As soon as you do, you’ll be awarded with the second number: 43. Your timer has reset, giving you another 30 seconds to reach the next cube.

Vex Cube #3

From where you landed after collecting the second cube, turn in the opposite direction and follow the river. It should be in the direction that you were headed initially, so if you’re facing the river, go right. You should find the third cube in the midst of five burnt-down tree trunks in the middle of the area. The third number in the sequence, which you’ll unlock after nabbing this cube, is 52.

Vex Cube #4

From where you collected the third cube, take a sharp left and head up the rocky hill. You should see the cube resting between two trees. And, as is the usual by this point, you’ll earn the fourth number: 49.

Vex Cube #5

Turn to the right and continue moving across the … pond??? until you come across a piece of highway jutting out from the water. Just ahead are two road signs, and in-between them is the fifth cube, which will also earn you the fifth number: 42.

Vex Cube #6

To nab the sixth and final cube, do a 180 degree turn and head in the opposite direction, following the devastated highway. As soon as you’re able to jump up to the left-most hill-y area, do so and go straight. Hidden amidst a group of fallen tree trunks is the sixth cube, awarding you with the final number: 45.

It should be noted that it doesn’t look like there is a “correct” order to grab these cubes in, but this is one that made sense to us. It’s possible that you might find a better order to nab them in.

What To Do After You’re Successful

If you followed this guide, then turn right from where you found the final cube and follow the cliffside. In no time at all, you’ll find a cave that is now accessible to you. If you’re unsure about the location, simply look into the sky — if you see a Vex distortion, you’re in the right place. Follow the cave’s path all the way, and you’ll be given the option to accept the //NODE.OVRD.AVALON// quest.
