Could this leak tell us that archeology is coming to Minecraft?

The Minecraft leak is at it again.

Archeology has been a hot topic for Minecraft fans since it was announced and forgotten. However, serial leaker Roger Badgerman has yet again stirred up conversation with a rather cryptic tweet that has made everyone think back to the archeology features. Is archeology still on the table, or was he implying something else entirely?

Is archeology coming to Minecraft?

Firstly, let’s state that Roger Badgerman is no regular Minecraft leaker. He has a long history of leaking Minecraft content and has been accurate in every case. This is the man who leaked the outcome of the recent mob vote, and has provided consistent leaks about changes to the launcher. No one knows how he gains such accurate information, but he hasn’t been stopped.

His latest tweet was simply one emoji, a ceramic pot. This has spurred a lot of conversation. More of a tease than a leak, but it is enough for fans to speculate. There are only two things that this could solidly relate to, and fans are very excited.

Firstly, it could simply be referring to the ideas of old grey vases to decorate the Ancient Cities. Mojang released concept art about them but they never made the final cut. In the 1.20 update, we could be receiving these vases that could make the Ancient City more exciting.

However, more interestingly, it could relate to the archeology update, as there was explicitly a large clay vase during Mojang’s showcase of the update. Archeology ultimately never made it, making people believe they had forgotten about it or put it in the back burner. But it may hit Minecraft in the next update.

It would fit perfectly, considering that there have been consistent themes of customization and exploration. If ever there was an update to add in archeology, this would be the one. It is unconfirmed, and Roger Badgerman’s Tweet was vague, but it is enough to keep archeology alive.
