All Bosses in Core Keeper

All Bosses in Core Keeper

Here's a rundown of all the bosses in Core Keeper

If there are two frontiers on Earth that remain almost entirely untouched by human hands, it’s the deepest depths of the ocean and the caverns and holes far below the Earth’s crust. You wouldn’t think much of anything could live in an airless environment, pitch-black and swelteringly hot, but as Jeff Goldblum put it, life finds a way, and oftentimes it’s a rather horrifying way. The boss monsters of Core Keeper are all beasts who have successfully adapted to subterranean life, and they would very much appreciate it if you either went away or stopped being alive. Here are all of the bosses in Core Keeper.

Bear in mind, as Core Keeper is still in early access, this list only accounts for the bosses that are in the initial build of the game, which means the number of bosses, their appearances, their capabilities, and more will more than likely change later. For now, you can view the list of all bosses in Core Keeper below.

All Bosses in Core Keeper

At time of writing, there are currently four boss monsters to encounter in Core Keeper’s day one early acces build:

  • Glurch the Abominous Mass
  • Ghorm the Devourer
  • The Hive Mother
  • Azeos the Sky Titan

Glurch the Abominous Mass

It’s kind of a given that any game with even a fraction of a fantasy theme has to have sentient slimes as an enemy type, and where there are sentient slimes, there’s almost always one really big slime. Glurch is that really big slime, though thankfully, he’s not all that bright. He’ll mostly just hop around and try to crush you, but if you lay out some spikes, he won’t have the brains to avoid landing right on top of them.

Ghorm the Devourer

Another mainstay of fantasy settings, and ones that take place underground, is gigantic insects. Subterranean insects are extremely protective of their territory, which wouldn’t normally be a problem, but when they’re as big as Ghorm the Devourer, it becomes a bit more concerning. If you’ve ever messed with an ant trail, though, you’d know that bugs like Ghorm can only walk in fairly straight lines, so just leave lots of bombs in his path, and he’ll march right into them.

The Hive Mother

Of course, even big bugs like Ghorm all had to come from somewhere. Every hive has a matriarch, constantly giving birth to new drones to serve the colony, and the mother of this hive is, well, The Hive Mother. The Hive Mother is rooted to the ground, spitting explosive spheres from its gaping maw, while also summoning drones to attack you. Since she’s rooted down, though, she can’t stop you if you stay moving, so just circle around her and continuously plant bombs, making sure to duck and weave around the environment to avoid her attacks and minions.

Azeos the Sky Titan

You wouldn’t think the underground would be the domain of a giant bird, but I guess that’s just how tough Azeos the Sky Titan is. He doesn’t care about conventional logic, he’s at the top of the food chain no matter where he is. Having magical abilities probably helps; Azeos conjures pillars of electricity that rake the ground in various patterns, as well as large crystals that restore his health. The best way to fight this bird is to get right in his face with a powerful melee weapon, preferably one with high crit chance, and wail on him, carefully sidestepping to avoid the pillars and immediately destroying the crystals when he summons them.
