Children of Silentown – Mini-Games and How to Beat Them

Unveiling secrets is not a game. Except it is.

Since the times of Mario Party, well, at least for me, I have been able to enjoy playing Mini-Games. All just to unlock freebies, in-game currency or just have the juiciest bragging rights. In this case, you will unveil the intentions, memories, emotions, and secrets of your fellow townspeople. I appreciate a narrative that brings depth to the setting and characters, so I love this mechanic. Anyway, if you want to know what this is all about, welcome to the world of Children of Silentown. These are their Mini-Games and how to beat them.

Mini-Games and How to Beat Them

When singing songs in Children of Silentown you will enter the minds and hearts of all the characters that surround you. You will unveil their thoughts and things that bring them joy or fear. Moreover, you will also find certain fears and memories of their past. These occasions will trigger by completing some Mini-Games in order to unveil the secrets of our silent townsmen. Here are all the Mini-Games and how to beat them in Children of Silentown.

  • Button Puzzle: this will be a traditional get to the goal puzzle. You will have to sew your way through some buttons. They will either have two or four wholes that are connected to strings that block the way to the goal. Be sure to go through all the buttonholes in order to finish the mini-game. Eventually, the puzzles will become more intricate. A lot of more buttons will appear along portals that will teleport your thread. Although they may seem complicated, it will take you a few tries to identify the correct path for you to complete every single one of the puzzles.
  • Water Stream Puzzle: connecting the pipes is a traditional video game that has appeared countless times in several instances with several variations. In this case, you will be given a certain number of gears that will connect the initial pipe with the surrounding ones. Meaning, once you turn the first pipe block, the others will turn as well. All you have to do is to draw your pathway and adjust each pipe block individually, turning once, and clicking on the gear to reset the block’s position, so it can be lined up. Just like the Button puzzles, these will get more difficult over time, with multiple water objectives and even forbidden goals that will poison all your water network.
  • Eye Light Puzzle: the last of the puzzles in the game, and quite counterintuitively, the easiest of the bunch. You will only have to click the closed eyes in order to light up the board. They will light up in a straight horizontal and vertical line. Think of it like a Sudoku, but with fewer numbers. The trick is that there are blocks of blue eyes that, if exposed to too much light, will reset your entire round. Oh, and they will scream, so you don’t want to do that. Just calculate the minimum amount of eyes you need to open to cover all the board, and you will be good to go.

These Mini-Games will get the best out of your micromanaging skills and spatial intelligence. Use them to your advantage and finish them with the promise of a mended broken heart, the reminiscing of better times or the removal of some scare red vines. Sounds worth it, so good luck, my white-eyed friend.
