Indie games are sometimes a synonym of cheap and short, with an eventual glimpse of genius. Well, this game is a bit short, it does not feel cheap and boy is it filled with genius, heartbreaking and wholesome moments. So no, Children of Silentown does not fit the mold, and that is what makes it really great and wonderful. Believe me, you are going to want to play this a couple of times. Not only because it is fun, but also because there is a game mechanic that will leave you wanting for more. You will know what I’m talking about soon enough. So, how long is Children of Silentown? Let’s talk about that.
How Long is Children of Silentown?
So, just like ogres, this question has several layers of answers. Firstly, your initial play-through, without knowing any of the puzzles or the sticker locations, will take you approximately 8–10 hours to complete. Well, it took me 11 hours personally to complete my first play through, but since I don’t do very well on these types of point-and-click games, that is why I have considered that estimate time frame. Now, spoiler warnings ahead: this game features four different endings. If you play this game four times, but the last three knowing all the different puzzle solutions, I would estimate that getting all the content available in the game can take you around 15–20 hours. It is a very conservative estimate since speeding through the game with the minimum necessary could bring down the total play time.

With that being said, there is a lot of fun and distressing times for you available in Children of Silentown. Just be sure to not get too invested, otherwise you will shed a couple of tears from time to time. No, I didn’t cry, I was just, you know, cutting onions in front of my monitor, just like everyone else.
