Can You Turn Off Puzzle Hints and Tips in Hogwarts Legacy?

Thanks, but no thanks

Hogwarts Legacy is a fantasy adventure game that allows players to step into the shoes of students at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. As students at Hogwarts, players can attend classes, befriend fantastic beasts, and explore the wizarding world from Hogsmeade to the Forbidden Forest! Hogwarts Legacy is the perfect RPG for Harry Potter fans, especially those who enjoyed the books more than the movies.

This game may be magical, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t like to make things difficult at times. There are numerous hidden puzzles in Hogwarts Legacy that would normally be extremely entertaining to solve, if it weren’t for the absurd number of hints that the game throws at you. The number of hints and tips that the game gives you during puzzles is almost insulting; it barely even gives you half of a chance to complete the puzzle on your own before it hands you the answer on a silver platter!

If you’re tired of being handed the answers to every single puzzle in the game, you’re not alone. Keep reading to find out if you can turn off puzzle hints and tips in Hogwarts Legacy!

Can You Turn Off Puzzle Hints and Tips in Hogwarts Legacy?

Being given unwanted hints can be frustrating when you’re trying to challenge yourself, especially when you’re attempting to solve some of Hogwarts Legacy’s harder puzzles. Unfortunately, there is currently no official way to turn off puzzle hints and tips in Hogwarts Legacy. However, there is a helpful mod that was recently released that, once downloaded, can turn off those pesky hints and tips for you.

Not everyone is a fan of modding their games, but if downloading mods doesn’t bother you, then you can read about how to install the special mod below.

If you don’t want to download a mod but still hate getting your puzzles spoiled, then keep scrolling to find a guide on how to minimize unwanted hints and tips:

How to Turn Off Puzzle Hints and Tips in Hogwarts Legacy (Mod)

Turning off the puzzle hints in this game is as easy as a single download! A mod was recently created that allows players to completely remove the puzzle hint voiceover; it’s “Puzzle Hint Voiceover Remover – SILENCE” by HaywirePhoenix on NexusMods. You can download it for free simply by clicking the link above!

This mod is currently one of the most popular mods for Hogwarts Legacy right now, and it’s no wonder why! It completely removes the puzzle hint voiceovers that automatically play in puzzle rooms, Hogsmeade, during exploration, and more! If that wasn’t great enough, it also gives players the option to remove Demiguide hints from the game as well. If you’re tired of having your game ruined by unprompted advice, then you need to download this mod!

How to Minimize Puzzle Hints and Tips in Hogwarts Legacy (No Mod)

Without the “Puzzle Hint Voiceover Remover – SILENCE” mod, there isn’t a way to completely get rid of the puzzle hints and tips feature. There are a couple of ways that you can minimize the number of hints and tips that the game gives you, however.

One of the ways that you can minimize the amount of “helpful” hints that the game gives you during puzzles is by changing the game’s difficulty. If you’re playing Hogwarts Legacy on Easy or Normal mode, you’ll likely get a lot more hints.

If you’re playing the game on Hard mode, however, you’ll hardly get any hints at all! Playing Hogwarts Legacy on Hard mode may not be the best choice for beginners, but if you’re trying to challenge yourself with fewer hints and tips anyway, you might as well go the extra mile!

Another way that you can minimize the number of hints you get is by lowering your in-game volume. Most of the “helpful” hints and tips that you get during puzzles are blurted out loud by your character, so if you lower the in-game volume to the point where you can no longer hear your character’s word vomit, you won’t get nearly as many hints!

This may seem like a silly solution, but until Avalanche Software releases an update that allows you to turn off hints manually, it’s one of the only solutions we have.
