Can You Respec in Cyberpunk 2077?

It’s a shame life isn’t an RPG like Cyberpunk 2077. If it was, you could build yourself up, realize you hate the direction you’ve gone in, and then just reset it and do again for free! There’d probably be way fewer people with certain college degrees, come to think of it… anyway, here’s how to respec in Cyberpunk 2077.

Build ‘em up, break ‘em down

Your stats in Cyberpunk 2077 are determined by three elements: your Attributes, your Skills, and your Perks. When you level up, you get points for your Attributes, while improving your skills by performing relevant actions gets you points for your Perks.

Now, good news and bad news: the bad news is that you can’t fully respec in this game. Attribute points, once spent, are set in stone. There’s no way to get those back. You also can’t un-level your Skills, obviously, though that I’m not really sure why you’d want to do.

Can You Respec in Cyberpunk 2077?

The good news is that you can partially respec by resetting your Perk points. With a particular item, you can undo all of your perks and get back their points to reapply however you see fit. The item in question is known as a “Tabula E-Rasa.” It’s a pun on “Tabula Rasa,” or “blank slate,” and the word “eraser.” Laugh, darn you.

Finding a Tabula E-Rasa is easy; just go see any of Night City’s numerous Ripperdocs and check out their trading inventory. They should all have Tabula E-Rasas for sale, no strings attached. Of course, just one of these things costs a yikes-inducing 100,000 eddies, so if you really want to respec those perks, you’re going to need to make a pretty sizable investment. Once you’ve paid for the item, just use it from your backpack, and you’ll get all of your Perk points back. Set those Perks wisely this time, unless you want to slap down another 100k for a do-over.
