Best Spire of the Watcher Weapons, Ranked – Destiny 2

The latest and greatest from Tex Mechanica

With the release of the new Spire of the Watcher Dungeon from Destiny 2, the dungeon offers players new weapons to chase the perfect rolls for. This time around the new guns come from the elusive Tex Mechanica foundry. Known for producing several exotic weapons and only a singular legendary, the Wastelander M5, players have been eager to see more from Tex. And the weapons have a new Origin Trait: Tex Balanced Stock. Playing into the power fantasy of being a hip firing cowboy, Tex Balanced Stock offers improved handling, reload, and movement speed when firing from the hip then aiming down sights.

These weapons can roll with some crazy perk combinations, and some even introduce a new weapon frame, drastically changing the way guardians play the game. In this article we’ll go over which weapons are the best to go after, and which ones you should not get too excited about.

#7 – Seventh Seraph Officer Revolver

For veterans of Destiny 2, this isn’t the first time seeing the Seventh Seraph Officer Revolver. Introduced in Season of the Worthy almost two years ago, guardians are pretty tired of this weapon. Not only that, but this is the second time this weapon has been reintroduced with new perk pools. The new Origin Trait Rasputin’s Arsenal is a nice touch. Being able to refill the magazine slightly when breaking a shield is appreciated, but not the best Origin Trait offered by a mile.

Perks like Reconstruction and Recombination can give the hand canon some new life, but not enough to make it a must have. The weapon also being 180 rounds per minute hurts. There are just other alternates that can do what this gun does but better. All in all this is a weapon that when received, most guardians will groan and immediately shard it.

#6 – Seventh Seraph Carabine

Again another weapon offered to guardians years ago, the Seventh Seraph Carabine at least has more versatility than the Officer Revolver. One thing that players do like about this auto rifle is it’s scope. Often considered to be one of the cleanest in game, now guardians have a new reason to use it. A perk combination like Reconstruction and the new Target Lock can play into the spray and pray playstyle. This can be taken further with Fourth Time’s the Charm. The right perks can make this gun fire and keep firing for a long time.

The Carabine also proves its worth in the Crucible as well. With Elemental Capacitor, this auto rifle can be one of the smoothest weapons to use in the game. Virtually zero recoil can be achieved by this gun with the right setup.

#5 – Long Arm

This new scout rifle has been nicknamed the Legendary Version of Dead Man’s Tale. So far the Long Arm has earned that nickname. Excelling in PvP, the Long arm is an Arc scout rifle, meaning your Kinetic weapon slot is free. Witherhoard is a great compliment to this weapon. With perks like Rapid Hit, Explosive Payload, and even Opening Shot, it’s not a matter of when the Long Arm will dominate the Crucible, but when.

The only reason why this weapon is not higher is that in terms of PvE, there’s not much this gun can offer, especially on higher end content. That and compared to the rest of the weapons later on, there’s nothing that makes it truly stand out other than being a mini DMT.

#4 – Terminus Horizon

If you’re a Titan, you may want to pay attention to this Light Machine Gun. The Terminus Horizon can roll with one of the most unique perks in the game, Those being Triple Tap and Target Lock. Hitting several crit spots in a row reloads the weapon from reserves, and Target Lock introduces more damage the longer you hit a single target.

Some of you may already know where I’m going with this.

Have Titans slap on the Actium War Rig chest exotic, and they have a pretty good chance of dumping their entire ammo reserves into a target without ever having to reload. This and with Bungie increased LMG damage to high health targets. The Terminus Horizon has the potential to be a competitor with the top DPS weapons.

Though for Warlocks and Hunters, a Rapid Hit Voltshot roll is right up your alley. The combo ensures rapid reloads and insane crowd control potential.

#3 – Liminal Vigil

Sidearms have ben gaining more traction in Destiny 2. And with the Liminal Vigil, that trend seems to continue. The sidearm is Stasis based, and it can roll with Headstone, an already popular perk. Not only that, this is the first sidearm in the game that can roll with Desperado. Already a playstyle can be formed. Get a crit kill, Headstone procs a Stasis Crystal. Reload, and now Desperado is active, increasing the weapon’s rate of fire and making it easier to get another crit kill.

Rinse and repeat.

This Sidearm can work well in PvP as well. With Perpetual Motion and Desperado, players will have to watch out for the potential monster this weapon can be in matches.

#2 – Hierarchy of Needs

The exotic bow offered by Spire of the Watcher isn’t necessarily game breaking, but it doesn’t have to be. Offering a unique gameplay loop, the Warmind inspired Exotic can create a Guidance Ring. Arrows shot trough the ring will do increased damage. The further an arrow travels, the more damage it will do. While a cool bow to use, the setup needed can fall apart when not doing solo activities.

#1 – Wilderflight

The fact that this grenade launcher isn’t an Exotic is fascinating. The Wilderflight is the first of it’s kind: a Double Fire Frame. Meaning when fired, two grenades fire at the same time. With Spike Grenades equipped, this adds significantly more damage. With Blinding Grenades, there is the potential to blind even more enemies. Pair that with perks like Frenzy and Vorpal Weapon, right out the gate this grenade launcher may be one of the best in the game right now.

And the cherry on top? Wilderflight is a Void grenade launcher, meaning it can work with Volatile Rounds.
