Levelling-up has never been easier. However, this process can still be tedious depending on how many Pokémon you are levelling-up. Whether you are getting started building a strong team for the questlines. Or looking to build a team specifically to target the Tera Raids. The Picnic function helps you in the levelling-up process by boosting EXP. This guide will show you the sandwich recipes, best for gaining EXP quickly. Although, some of these recipes include the Herba Mystica, most do not.

The Picnic Function and Sandwich Making

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet has introduced a new means of temporarily boosting specific abilities. For example, catching and encountering wild Pokémon. These are the Picnic function sandwiches. Players have the opportunity to experiment. Having a variety of ingredients. These are common and rare ingredients which can be purchased around the Paldea region. There is also the extremely rare Herba Mystica. Which greatly increases the sandwich Meal Powers. The Herba Mystica is obtainable only in the post-game of Scarlet and Violet.

The Meal Powers in the Picnic sandwich making function of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are:

  • Catching – Increase Pokémon catching chances.
  • Encounter – Increase Pokémon encountering chances.
  • EXP increase.
  • Humungo – Increase Large Pokémon encounter chance.
  • Teensy – Increase Small Pokémon encounter chance.
  • Title – Increase Titled Pokémon encounter chance.
  • Sparkling – Increase Shiny Pokémon encounter chance.
  • Item Drop – Dropped item increase.
  • Raid – Dropped Tera item increase.
  • Egg – Pokémon egg increase in Picnic basket.

These Meal Powers are determined by the specific ingredients you use in the sandwich recipe. Each ingredient has a different purpose. With most targeting a specific Pokémon-Type.
