Best Pistols in Cyberpunk 2077 and How to Get Them

Here are the best pistols in Cyberpunk 2077:

  • Comrade’s Hammer
  • Skippy
  • Archangel
  • Genjiroh

Comrade’s Hammer

One of the best and most exciting pistols to use is Comrade’s Hammer. The Legendary Iconic handgun comes with a modified clip with one bullet in the chamber that deals large explosive damage. By far, it’s the highest DPS pistol in the game, capable of one-shotting most non-boss enemies with ease.

To find Comrade’s Hammer, you’ll need to scope out the blueprint in Santo Domingo. You can locate it in a Suspected Organized Crime Activity, signified by a skull icon on the map. Refer to the image below for the exact spot.

After finding the blueprint, you’ll need to craft an Epic version of the weapon and then craft the Legendary version from that. Make sure you have the following crafting abilities to make a Legendary Comrade’s Hammer, which requires a minimum of level 18 points in Technical Ability:

  • Grease Monkey
  • Edgerunner Artisan

Skippy

Next up is one of the most interesting smart weapons Cyberpunk 2077 has to offer. Imagine Microsoft Office’s Clippy combined into an AI-powered pistol. The outcome would probably be something like the Iconic Legendary Skippy. This weapon is a freebie you can pick up at one of the cyberpsycho locations in the Vista Del Ray section of Night City. You’ll find it in a back alley in a briefcase next to its alleged previous owner.

There are a few caveats with this weapon, though. First of all, you’ll need to set it up when you first obtain it. You can select from two-firing modes: Puppy-Loving Pacifist or Stone Cold Killer. The catch is that your weapon will permanently switch to the other mode after getting around 50 kills with it. For that reason, you may want to start on Puppy-Loving Pacifist. Beware, aiming at civilians might cause Skippy to fire the weapon accidentally.

Overall, this isn’t the highest damage pistol in the game, but it’s one of the most interesting. In terms of Smart Pistols, it’s definitely one of your better options. Refer to our guide on how to get Skippy if you want to pick it up for yourself.

Archangel

Next up is one of the highest DPS pistols in the game, the Legendary Iconic Archangel Power Revolver. If you craft a Legendary of this, you can get it up to almost 2,000 DPS with 100% Crit Chance and over 200% Crit Damage.

The Archangel is a gift from Kerry Eurodyne during the side job called A Like Supreme. He’ll hand it over to you at the bar after the Samurai show, and you can upgrade it to a Legendary down the line. The pistol deals Electrical damage with a chance to apply a Stun to the enemy. It also has significantly less recoil than other revolvers.

If you can get the right rolls on this weapon, it can prove to be one of the highest damage handguns in the entire game. When Kerry first gives you the weapon, it will be a rare, so you’ll need to upgrade it to Legendary to unlock its potential.

Genjiroh

Here’s another Smart Pistol for the list. This one is obtainable by breaking into the Arasaka Estate and finding the blueprint. It’s called Genjiroh and has an incredible perk that targets up to six targets simultaneously. It also comes with four empty mod slots and Crit Damage and Crit Chance stats.

At first glance, it doesn’t look like the DPS on this thing is high, but where it really excels is in crowds of enemies. The perk allows you to mow down hordes of enemies with no problems, which you may find convenient if your playstyle is brute force.

It’s worth a try, especially if you already have the means to use Smart weapons. I run this with the Ashura sniper rifle, and it’s a deadly combination.

There are many more iconic and legendary pistols in the game, like the Apparition, Chaos, and Lizzie, to name a few. These are our picks for the best in the game, but feel free to experiment and come to your own conclusion.
