Best Female Characters to S Rank in Fire Emblem Engage

The answer may not be what you expect (or want)

Fire Emblem Engage has quite the wide array of characters to bond with and make an everlasting promise to once nearing its end-game with the Pact Ring item. Doing so will bag you several benefits – an updated entry in their Ally Notebook pages, a unique memento of theirs that is interactive on Alear’s bedroom table, changes to the Epilogue and a brand new special skill when the pair use Engage Skills together.

This may get you thinking if you should be taking such a decision all that seriously then with all that taken into account. In the end, you really won’t have to think much with your head but rather your heart. Here’s why.

Best Female Characters to S Rank in Fire Emblem Engage

Quite simply, it will depend on what you are looking for. Alear is the only character in the game who can achieve an S rank in support with a fellow comrade, and this remains completely exclusive for a single playthrough since there is only one chance and one Pact Ring to commit to doing so with. Since Alear can S-support anyone, regardless of age or sex, the choices are plentiful.

With a total of 34 darling units to consider who your special someone should be, the question for today is with its female units only. This whittles the total candidates down to 17. From these candidates, the nature of the exclusive relationship end-point should be the only factor worth thinking about. This is because these range from platonic, romantic or simply casual – flirty even – of a relationship with the player character.

Here’s a table for each of its female characters’ relationship with Alear if they S-Support them;

RelationshipCharacter
PlatonicAnna, Celine, Etie, Saphir, Veyle
RomanticChloe, Citrinne, Goldmary, Ivy, Jade, Lapis, Merrin, Panette
Non-romantic but more than comfortable to flirt the absolute pants off you stillFramme, Hortensia, Timerra, Yunaka

No unit offers more benefits or any differences to the end result of S supporting with anyone mechanically or gameplay wise. The Epilogue write up will be different however since the characters certainly do differ from one another in terms of storyline, direction and depth. If we had to make just one suggestion, it’s actually to S-support Alfred over every single possible unit in the game since spoiler warning

He dies prematurely as king if the player does not stay by his side.
