Best Deals For Steam Summer Sale 2022

Like most of Steam’s major sales, the Summer Sale 2022 is accompanied by a little minigame. This time, we’ve received a transmission from one “Clorthax,” a time-traveling weirdo from the year 3000. He’s marked ten games that, apparently, are really popular in the future, and if you can find all of them based on his hints, you’ll unlock a profile badge and some cool trading cards.

I know what you’re here for, though. Without further ado, let’s get to the deals!

Monster Hunter Rise: 49% off for $30.59

Image via Capcom

If there was a single, solitary pastime that gaming was made for, it was hunting gigantic monsters with equally gigantic weaponry. Since making the jump to Steam, Monster Hunter Rise has only increased in popularity, which means there’s always someone to group up and go hunting with. Of course, we have to mention that in just a week’s time, the game’s major DLC pack, Sunbreak, is releasing, so if you’re behind the curve, now’s the time to get in before you get left behind!

Devil May Cry 5: 67% off for $9.89

Image via Capcom

Devil May Cry has always been the gold standard of character-action games, and when Devil May Cry 5 came out, we were reminded why. This game features the epitome of high-speed, super stylish combat, complete with myriad weapons and abilities and a cast of lovable rogues. You don’t know joy until you’ve crushed a demon with a pair of giant chainsaws that turn into a motorcycle. Don’t forget to pick up the Vergil DLC, on sale as well!

Fallout: New Vegas Ultimate Edition: 60% off for $7.99

Image via Bethesda

While it’s not the newest Fallout game, almost anyone you ask will agree that Fallout: New Vegas is still one of the best, if not the best. Lose yourself in a massive, post-apocalyptic world, where you can stake your claim on treasures from a lost past. The Ultimate Edition includes all of the game’s DLC packs, guaranteeing hours upon hours of wasteland RPG/shooter fun.

Hollow Knight: 50% off for $7.49

Image via Team Cherry

The indie Metroidvania that came out of nowhere to set the world on fire, Hollow Knight features a Dark Souls-caliber story set against the backdrop of a dying insect kingdom. Explore the burrows of Hallownest, amass strength, and take on a variety of creative bosses. The spin-off, Hollow Knight: Silksong, is releasing sometime next year, so it’s a good time to get on board.

Hades: 40% off for $14.99

Image via Supergiant Games

A true masterwork of story and gameplay, Hades follows Zagreus, son of the titular Greek god of the dead, as he seeks to force his way out of the underworld. Battle spirits with laser-precision combat, and when you get killed, do it all again from the bottom! Hades has won numerous awards for its gameplay and story, to the point that the Hugo Awards had to make a new award category just to give an award to it!

Cuphead: 30% off for $13.99

Image via Studio MDHR

If you have any affinity for either classic rubberhose-era cartoons or run-and-gun games like Gunstar Heroes, Cuphead is a must-play. Take on a conga line of wacky, yet difficult bosses, each rendered in beautiful hand-drawn animation and backed by jazzy big band tunes. The long-awaited DLC pack, The Delicious Last Course, is releasing at the end of June!

Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate Edition: 75% off for $14.99

Image via Netherrealm/WB Games

Some people like fighting games for the skill aspect, but me, I’m all about the spectacle. When it comes to spectacle, it doesn’t get much more spectacular than a good ol’ Fatality. Mortal Kombat 11 features a massive roster of characters to play as, plus a cinematic story mode that only makes things wilder. The Ultimate Edition also includes the Kombat Packs, which add crossover characters like Robocop and the Joker.

Control Ultimate Edition: 70% off for $11.99

Image via Remedy Entertainment/505 Games

If you’re the kind of person who enjoys browsing the SCP wiki, you’ll definitely get a kick out of Control. Become head of a clandestine organization dedicated to protecting the world from terminally weird occurrences, master supernatural abilities, and work to get things under control (pun intended). The Ultimate Edition also includes the game’s two story DLC packs, one of which ties into Remedy’s other franchise, Alan Wake.

Everhood: 30% off for $6.99

Image via Foreign Gnomes/Surefire Games

Every once in a while, a game comes out that defies all rational explanations. Everhood is one of those games, and it’s an absolute trip from beginning to end. The best way I could describe it is “Undertale meets Guitar Hero with a pinch of existential philosophy,” but that doesn’t really do it justice. This strange trip must be seen to be believed.

The Steam Summer Sale 2022 will be running until July 7th at 10:00 AM Pacific time. Don’t wait around, go secure your entertainment for the summer!
