Best Class and Loadout For Destiny 2 Lightfall

Best Class and Loadout For Destiny 2 Lightfall

Don't get caught with your pants down.

Look, I’m a Hunter main. I’ve been a Hunter main for over nine years now, so I’m obviously going to think that Hunters have the best class and loadout for Destiny 2 Lightfall.

To avoid riling up all the Warlock and Titan mains, I’m instead going to offer what I think the best subclass and loadout for each one are before going into Lightfall.

Keep in mind that I’m basing these decisions on having played the Legendary difficulty Lightfall campaign. If you don’t plan on playing Legendary – then you can use practically whatever you want, it won’t matter too much.

Hunter

I’m recommending Void for Hunters looking to delve into Lightfall. Out of all three subclasses, it easily offers the most survivability – and that’s paramount in the Legendary campaign. There’s also a new Fragment called Echo of Cessation that improves upon an already great build – which is what I’m recommending you take into Lightfall.

The build I run utilizes Gyrfalcon’s Hauberk. It takes advantage of the Volatile Rounds from that Exotic, in combination with these Aspects.

  • Stylish Executioner.
  • Vanishing Step.

On top of that, I’m running the following Fragments:

  • Cessation.
  • Persistence.
  • Starvation.
  • Undermining.

In terms of loadout, my go-to is Funnelweb, The Hero’s Burden with Repulsor Brace, or Veles-x. Depending on what kind of range I’m fighting at, and the add-density, I’ll switch between these three fairly frequently.

You don’t need these weapons to make this build work – but you do need a Void weapon of some sort that can hold its own on Legendary difficulty.

Warlocks don’t have to worry about changing much. Starfire Protocol dominated before Lightfall, and it’s going to continue dominating after Lightfall.

In case you’ve been living under a rock, the Exotic Starfire Protocol chest piece for the Warlock is capable of the best solo-DPS in the entire game, combined with Witherhoard and an Auto-Loading Rocket. Even if you don’t have all that, you’ll still be able to output insane numbers, making those Tormentors look like a joke. Well, a joke relative to how much trouble I had dealing with them on Hunter.

You are sacrificing survivability for this damage, though, so keep that in mind.

For this build to work, you’ll want these Aspects:

  • Touch of Flame.
  • Icarus Dash.

Only Touch of Flame is needed to make this build work – but you’ll be throwing your grenades, not consuming them. So, Heat Rises isn’t really ideal. On top of those two, you’ll want these Fragments:

  • Char.
  • Blistering.
  • Eruption.
  • Ashes.

Loadout-wise, there are a few components you’ll want to have. First, Witherhoard with its Catalyst equipped. This will give your Witherhoard Auto-Loading, letting you chain it with Fusion Grenades from Starfire, and Rockets from an Auto-Loading Rocket Launcher.

The Palmyra Rocket Launcher is craftable and comes with Auto-Loading and Explosive Light, making that an ideal choice. For your primary, a Calus Mini-Tool or other Incandescent weapon is great, but you can switch it up if you want to (just adjust your Fragments accordingly).

Titan

Titans are the class I have the least experience with – but any time I do play them, I play Solar.

Solar Titans have been busted since the subclass launched, and despite numerous, numerous attempts from Bungie to reign them in, they’ve never quite left the META.

Solar Titans are the best solo class in the game, tied with Void Hunters in my opinion. Your Sunspot generation with your Hammer gives you a ludicrous amount of healing – making you capable of just tanking damage while you smack a boss.

If you want a taste of this power for yourself, you’ll want these Aspects:

  • Sol Invictus.
  • Roaring Flames.

To complement those, you’ll be running four Fragments:

  • Torches.
  • Benevolence.
  • Char.
  • Eruption.

Syntocepts and Wormgod Caress aren’t as good as they used to be, but they’re certainly still great options with this build. For my money, though, the best Exotic armor piece to pair with Solar Titan is Lorely’s Splendor.

This helmet is going to give you access to instant Sunspots, meaning instant healing – and what’s more valuable than that?

You don’t need to worry about your weapon loadout too much with this build because you’re aiming to bonk everything with your Hammer. A Disruption-Grenade GL may be a good choice for some of the more hectic campaign missions but is far from necessary.
