Best Arc Warlock Build For Destiny 2 Lightfall

It's not trash, I promise.

I’m going over what I think is the best Arc Warlock build in Destiny 2 Lightfall. I’ll admit that this is one of my lesser-played subclasses, but when I started theorycrafting a build for it – I was blown away. This has some of the best general add-clear and grenade regen in the entire game, and I’m not just saying that.

I’ll break down how you can put this Arc Warlock build together for yourself, Fragment by Fragment. If you’ve been put off running Arc Warlock for a while – now’s the time.

Before you jump in, though, I want to point out that this is a Getaway Artist build. Everything here revolves around that Exotic, so you’ll need it to make all of this work.

  • Arc Soul.

The first Fragment in this Arc Warlock build for Lightfall is the build’s namesake – Arc Soul. This gives us an Arc Soul buddy when we cast our Rift, and it gives one to any allies that pass through the Rift, too.

Beyond that, it increases our Rift’s recharge rate when near allies, and makes our Arc Souls gain an increased rate of fire when we’re Amplified.

That last bit’s important. The buff that your Arc Souls get while Ampflified is massive. They’ll be better at clearing adds and killing majors than you will. We’re aiming to always be Amplified with this build, making sure all of our Arc Souls are, as well.

  • Electrostatic Mind.

Electrostatic Mind is the foundation of our Amplification engine. First, when you defeat enemies with Arc abilities, or defeat a Jolted/Blinded enemy, it’ll create an Ionic Trace.

The second effect of this Aspect makes you Amplified when you pick up an Ionic Trace. This is the important part, as this is how we fuel our empowered Arc Souls.

This Aspect is our main source of Ionic Trace generation – too, so it’s a requirement, not an option.

Fragments

  • Spark of Ions.

As with a lot of Arc builds, the power of this one comes from its abilities and Aspects. Fragments are secondary, so you can really spec into whatever you want. This is the setup I reccomend, though.

I start with Spark of Ions for more Ionic Trace generation. This will generate Traces everytime you kill a Jolted target. We don’t have much Jolt support in this build, but we do have one Fragment that gives us access to it, as does a Voltshot Ikelos SMG.

  • Spark of Shock.

Our second Fragment is Spark of Shock, and it’s how we’re going to be Jolting targets. This makes our grenades Jolt, and I know what you’re thinking. Yes, we’re mainly going to be consuming our grenades with Getaway Artist to generate Arc Souls.

However, you’ll often find that this build’s grenade regen is so good that you’re getting your nade back while you still have upwards of 10 seconds on your Soul. There is all the time in the world to chuck a few Storm Grenades in between Arc Souls, to the point I think it’s worth investing in.

  • Spark of Amplitude.

Spark of Amplitude generates Orbs of Power for rapidly defeating targets while Amplified. We’re always going to be Amplified, and our Arc Souls mean we have double the add-killing potential, so rapidly killing targets is this build’s default.

Orbs of Power are more important now that they power the Armor Charge system – investing in generating some is always a good idea. Just don’t forget to combine it with a Siphon mod of your choice.

  • Spark of Magnitude.

Last but not least, we have Spark of Magnitude. This is going to make our grenades last longer – so if you’re using a Storm Grenade, it’ll kill more things before it goes away.

This doesn’t work with your Arc Souls, but that really doesn’t matter. Getaway Artist has a hidden effect that returns grenade energy every time your Soul hits something – not kills, hits. This, combined with the rest of our mod setup, is enough to keep your nades up constantly, all while consuming them and using them to your heart’s content.

Gear

Getaway Artist.

Exotic-wise, this is a Getaway Artist build, so that’s exactly what you’ve got to use. These Exotic gloves let you consume your Arc Grenade to generate a sentient Arc Soul, and it also makes you Amplified.

This build is designed around this Exotic – there is no room for anything else.

In terms of weapons, it doesn’t really matter too much – just use what you normally do. Obviously, a god roll Ikelos SMG will be your best bet, as it’ll also generate Traces thanks to Spark of Ions. Alternatively, I reccomend a Demolitionist primary for even more grenade regeneration.

Smite of Merain is a T1 choice in this regard – especially if you get a Firefly/Demolitionist roll.

Mods

Your mod setup for this Arc Warlock build sort of speaks for itself. The mod system got some serious simplification with Destiny 2 Lightfall – so we don’t have too much variety in terms of what to spec into.

That being said, here are the mods I reccomend:

  • x1 Stacks on Stacks.
  • x1 Charged Up.
  • x2/3 Grenade Kickstart.

The only goal of this mod setup is to feed into Grenade Kickstart, giving you even more grenade regeneration than you already have. It’s ludicrious how quickly you get your nades back with this build.
