As stated above, there are three damage types that you’ll primarily see brought over from Armored Core 5. These are KE, CE, and TE, each one being an abbreviation for Kinetic, Chemical, and Thermal Energy respectively. Each weapon or attack you use will have one of these energy types attached to it, with a few exceptions as there were in the previous game. The game implores a Pokémon effectiveness style of combat with these damage types.

If you deal damage to an enemy with resistance to that damage, your attacks will be severely reduced. Conversely, attacks that you make using one of the energies that your opponent is weak to, you’ll receive massive bonuses and benefits to your attacks. If you’re repeatedly failing a mission and aren’t sure what to do, consider your damage types, and change up your own AC in order to counter the enemies. Since there might be a situation where your set-up isn’t working, mix-and-matching is going to be your best friend. Try new weapons with different energy types, and you’ll be passing missions with flying colors in no time.
