Anime Warriors was undoubtedly one of the most hyped Roblox anime games of the summer. Unfortunately, Nyxun, the BlockZone development group owner, announced that Anime Warriors would be temporarily closing its doors beginning on August 27. The team will be overhauling the entire game down to the character system, enemies, missions, and adding much more content in general, including PvP.
Here is the official statement from Nyxun in the Anime Warriors Discord:
After some consideration, the development team of Anime Warriors has decided to do a complete revamp of the game. We realized the game did not meet the expectations of both the players and especially the developers. In the testing phase, the game was not tested thoroughly which resulted in a buggy, laggy, unbalanced, and an overall unfinished product. During the revamp, we will be closing the game starting 8/27/21. We’re planning on reworking the character system, combat, mobs, missions, and adding more to the game including a variety of different game modes, PVP, and other content. This action is necessary for the game as we want to put our best efforts into the development and display a game that can be enjoyable and replayable for every single player. The AW development team cares deeply for the game and we want to present you with a game that’s created to the best of our capabilities. Thank you for your understanding and we look forward to seeing you again in a few weeks. PLAYER DATA WILL NOT BE RESET.
The team acknowledges that the game did not meet the expectations of the Roblox community, even though it did receive over 127K likes and 21M visits within the three weeks since release. For that reason, they plan to close the game off to the public to begin revamping things from the ground up. There’s no doubt that it’s the right move, considering the scope of the project.
Despite the criticism from the community for its gacha elements, there’s no denying BlockZone’s talented developers have the recipe and potential to make a great game. As someone who spent some time with Anime Warriors, the systems were innovative, and the animations were very well-done. Perhaps it felt a bit rushed toward the end of the development cycle, but there’s no denying it was fun. At the end of the day, it’s often hard to live up to such big hype.
We have high hopes for the game’s return and look forward to seeing what changes come our way. At this time, there is no official tentative re-launch date, but we will keep you posted when we hear anything.
