The second Animal Crossing New Horizons Bug Off Tournament is live this Saturday, July 25. You may have seen the message board in Resident Services announcing the upcoming Bug Off. It’s similar to the fishing tournament held earlier in the year. The Bug Off Tournament occurs every fourth Saturday.

Animal Crossing New Horizons Bug Off Tournament Details

Flick has some tasks for players in ACNH. You will need to catch many different bugs for him to add to his collection. The Animal Crossing New Horizons Bug Off Tournament dates are as follows:

  • July 25, 2020: 9 am – 6 pm
  • August 22, 2020: 9 am – 6 pm
  • September 26, 2020: 9 am – 6 pm

All times and dates above are for players located in the Northern Hemisphere. Flick will be around until 8 pm if you need to catch and sell more bugs you have in your inventory. Your first entrance is free, but each subsequent attempt is 500 Bells. You can find Flick hanging out in front of Resident Services at 9 am on the tournament days.

How to participate in the Bug Off Tournament

You’ll have to head over to Flick at your upgraded Resident Services or visit a friend’s if you have yet to upgrade yours. Flick tasks you with catching as many bugs as possible within three minutes. You receive a couple of bonus points if you can catch three bugs or more. When the timer is up, return to Flick to exchange your bugs for bug-themed items and Bug Trophies.

Participating in the tournament with friends grants you a multiplayer bonus, so the game incentivizes it. If you and your friends catch enough bugs, you can get up to 10 bonus points and scoop up all the rewards possible. Flick buys bugs from you for more than the Nooklings at Nook’s Cranny.
