Today marks the launch of Lost Ark Early Access for the North American, Latin American, and European regions. With the full release still three days away, Lost Ark has already hit one million viewers on Twitch, skyrocketing it to the number one category on the streaming platform.
It’s an exciting day for gamers who are looking to try out a new MMOARPG, and Lost Ark is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated games of the year. To add to the hype, Lost Ark has incentivized fans to tune into their favorite streamers on Twitch to unlock some pretty cool Lost Ark Twitch Drops.
At the time of writing, the top categories on Twitch, in order of popularity, are Lost Ark, Just Chatting, Grand Theft Auto V, League of Legends, and Valorant. Lost Ark is leading the pack with a whopping 1M viewers, followed by just chatting at 591K and Grand Theft Auto V at nearly 200K.
Further highlighting this milestone, the game reached this number of viewers while most players were still in the process of downloading, unpacking files, and more or less waiting to get into the game. Currently, Steam is having some issues, according to DownDetector, which is likely contributing to some of the connection issues.
If you’re still waiting in queue to get into the game, you can check out the official Lost Ark Director’s Trailer. There do appear to be some regional-specific issues that are preventing some players from connecting. You can try switching your download region and restarting Steam if you continue to have problems.
One time will tell if the game can keep up these sorts of numbers, but at the moment, Lost Ark is looking to be one of the most popular launches within the past year.
