How to Fix White Screen Crash Issue in Armored Core 6

Take caution when attempting to download files to solve this issue.

Armored Core 6 is in the hands of players, and being the game right after Elden Ring is a lot to follow. Even though they are wildly different games, FromSoftware has spent as much time and care into crafting this mech battle experience. However, like Elden Ring, the game isn’t without a plethora of technical issues. If you ended up playing Elden Ring when it released, this issue might be all too familiar to you. But it seems that when some PC players attempt to start up their copy of AC6, they’re met with a blinding white screen. This screen is only there for a moment, as you’ll be notified of the application not running properly, only for it to crash and close a few seconds later. So let’s sortie on a mission, and figure out how to fix white screen crash issue in Armored Core 6.

By now FromSoft players are used to blinding white screens, thanks to the Bandai Namco splash screen that plays every time you load the game. Sadly, this white screen crash is something that doesn’t fix itself just by sitting there. Luckily, there are a few things you can do to try and make the problem disappear. For those that don’t know, this crash is primarily due to your systems graphics card, and the games DirectX12 technology. Usually, the game will attempt to load the games graphics during the splash screens, that way the game will load to the title and subsequent screens faster. With older GPUs and DX12, the game seems to run into loading issues, similar with their last PC release in Elden Ring.

To remedy this issue, there seems to be a solution that players have used since the launch of Elden Ring. Thanks to a YouTube video by Arthur Morgan, players can watch a step by step tutorial on how to potentially solve the problem. You’ll want to go ahead and open file explorer, and go to C:/Windows/System32. From there, copy the files D3D12.dll and D3D12Core.dll and paste them in your game location. Next, take the first file with the smaller name, and change it to ‘D3D12_original.dll‘. After that, all you’ll need to do is head over to this Github link, download and open the file, and place them in the game directory with the other files. Close out of file explorer, and you should be able to load into your game with no issues.
