When Does Fortnite Season 7 Start?

Every time Fortnite changes seasons, it’s always a big deal. Obviously so, there’s always new content, mechanics, and skins upon skins of cameo characters. But in addition, those new features are often accompanied by elaborate AR games and targeted advertising campaigns. Even if you don’t play Fortnite, it’s still interesting to watch unfold as a sort of thesis for memetic advertising. But of course, before we can talk about theses, we gotta know when it’s all going down. So, when does Fortnite season 7 start?

When Does Fortnite Season 7 Start?

Epic Games has confirmed that season 7 of Fortnite will begin on Tuesday, June 8th. We don’t have specific start times available, but based on the start times from previous season beginnings, we can make an educated guess.

  • 9:00 AM BST
  • 10:00 AM CEST
  • 4:00 AM EDT
  • 1:00 AM PDT

Of course, no matter when it actually starts, you’ll probably have a lengthy update to download, not to mention throttled servers from everyone trying to log on at the same time, so it may be better to just wait until later in the day.

As for what’s actually coming in season 7, Epic has been cryptic as usual. The tagline for the season is “They’re coming,” and in yet another elaborate AR game, Epic has been sending postcards, DVDs, and posters with that tagline to various people, along with a strange green glyph. Each promotional item also contained a phone number that, when called, produced a strange, incomprehensible signal, along with unknown characters talking about deciphering the signal, tracking the origin’s whereabouts, and eventually, its imminent arrival.

It doesn’t take a genius to figure out that we’re going with an alien angle here, but the question is, what kind of weirdness can aliens bring to the table that isn’t already plentiful in Fortnite? Guess we’ll find out next week.
