Diablo 2: Resurrect is the remaster of Blizzard’s classic action RPG, and a small number of fans will have access to the Technical Alpha test beginning this weekend. Blizzard announced today that a single-player Technical Alpha test is happening this upcoming weekend. The playtest begins on Friday, April 9 at 10 AM EST and ends on Monday, April 12, at 1 PM EST. Here’s everything you need to know about Diablo 2 Resurrected‘s upcoming Technical Alpha test.
Players will have access to the Amazon, Barbarian, and Sorceress, three of the seven original classes in Diablo 2. Everything in the first two acts, including the final act bosses Andariel and Duriel, will be available. There is also no level cap, meaning players can grind to their heart’s content as soon as the alpha opens up. Content creators can also capture, record, and stream the game throughout the test. The focus for Blizzard is on early game systems testing and collecting performance data.
How to get access to Diablo 2 Resurrect Alpha and Beta
Fans can opt-in to the alpha and beta tests over on the Blizzard website. You’ll need to verify your age and login into your Blizzard account. Once you’ve done that, click on the big button to opt in for your chance at access. There’s not much else you can do to increase your odds. Pre-purchasing the title does not include Technical Alpha access.
Alpha access is determined by a random selection between all players who opted-in. As far as we know, as long as you opt in by Friday, you’re in the running. Remember, this is an alpha, and the game is still a work-in-progress, so expect bugs and get ready to report any issues you find.
According to Blizzard, a multiplayer playtest will happen sometime later in the year. For now, your best bet is to opt in on the official Blizzard site and hope for the best.
Diablo 2 Resurrected supports 4K and features redone cutscenes, remastered audio, and an all-around enhanced version of the classic action-RPG fans know and love. You can find more D2R alpha test details here.
