Man, timed quests are the worst, right? It’s bad enough if you have a quest that requires you to slaughter tons of enemies or go back and forth gifting NPCs. When you are given a quest that has a time limit and there’s no indicator that it’s timed that’s a whole new level of insanity. Dredge is a fishing game that has unnerving elements that range from aberrations to hooded figures. If you’ve been playing Dredge you’ve probably come across hooded figures in the game. Who are they? What do they want? Why are they dying before you can help them? Here’s what you need to do in Dredge if hooded figures die in the game.
Who are the hooded figures in Dredge?
The hooded figures in Dredge are easily identifiable due to them wearing hoods over their faces and their color combinations. According to sources, there are at least four of them you can spot as you’re traveling around. When you approach them they’ll ask you to fetch them various items such as fish. If you succeed in giving them what they’re asking for you’re gifted various rewards. If you fail to give them what they want they will die.
After coming across a hooded figure you fail to deliver what they’ve asked for. This means you have failed the quest and there’s no opportunity to replay it. They have starved to death. If you do let them die the quest will be considered complete but you will not be able to unlock the achievement that is granted once you’ve 100% completed the game. The hooded figures will give you books that won’t make or break the game, so, if you’re a completionist, they’re worth it. If you’re not into completing everything in the game they’re not a total miss.
Where to find hooded figures in Dredge?
These four hooded figures are scattered around the game and each of them has unique coloring. The different hoods that are worn are red, yellow, purple, and blue. The minute you see one of them and talk to them is when the quest starts and you’re timed to complete it. To find the different hooded figures you need to go to these locations:
- Red hooded figure: L14
- Yellow hooded figure: Bottom K2
- Purple hooded figure: Top E9
- Blue hooded figure: Middle M7
You need to give each hooded figure a different type of fish to prevent them from starving. After you have given fish to them you will receive books on haggling and bartering, pushing the limit: engines, Nautical engineering, and advanced fishing.
